Positive thinking is a very powerful way to improve your life in so many ways. The power of the mind and our thoughts really does shape our world around us. Even the most practised positive thinkers still have to deal with negative mind chatter from time to time, here are some practical tips to assist you on a daily basis:
Firstly learn to question your own mind and look for the evidence you are getting. Question it ~ “This is not true because…” Maybe you are thinking about trying out something new and positive in life you feel it is a good idea but your mind keep throwing up reasons as to why you shouldn’t do it.
Or maybe you want to lead a more positive life full stop but your head just keeps saying No and kicking out reasons to remain in your current mind pattern. Whatever comes up for you ~ question it…. Write it out and really get to the nuts and blots of why your mind is telling you these things.
Secondly be wise about what you are saying to yourself, be mindful of your own self talk. Talk back to your negative mind chatter and reason with yourself, be optimistic and look for the most positive outcome in every situation which your brain is putting a negative spin on.
I love the Optimists Creed by Christian Larson ~ There is a copy of this available on my blog, print it out, pin it up somewhere you can see everyday and start expecting positive things to show up not only in your life but in your mind.
Remember that what we think about we bring about. When you start to look for the evidence and pinpoint specific details against a negative thought this will really help you to transform your own beliefs over time.
